Chng Lay Chew joined Singapore Exchange Ltd in 2011 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Beyond the finance role, he played a key role in SGX’s strategic investments, capital management, corporate treasury and financing activities. He also managed key relationships with institutional investors.
Prior to SGX, he held leadership positions in JP Morgan and DBS Bank. He currently serves on the Board of the Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore) and was previously a director of the Energy Market Company Pte Ltd and the Philippine Dealing System Holdings Corporation.
With over 35 years of experience in the financial industry, Lay Chew has contributed to the development of the accounting profession locally in the areas of education and professional development. He was a Board Member of the Singapore Accountancy Commission, during which he chaired the Singapore CFO Institute Advisory Council. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the School of Accountancy at the Singapore Management University and is the President of the Singapore Division of CPA Australia.
Lay Chew graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree from New Zealand’s Victoria University of Wellington. He is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and a Fellow member of CPA Australia.
