Our annual fundraising event was held on 10 September 2016 where AWWA’s partners and supporters watched Annie the musical at Marina Bay Sands MasterCard theatres. With the generous donations from AWWA’s partners and supporters, 50 of AWWA clients – students with disabilities, families-in-need, seniors and caregivers were given the opportunity to watch the iconic broadway musical too! It was the first for many of them.

As part of this annual fundraising event, the cast of the Broadway musical, “Annie” – Annie and Daddy Warbucks visited AWWA School on 31 August and did a special performance of the songs “I Don’t Need Anything” and “Tomorrow” for our students. There was also a music and movement segment and our students needed no prompting, they started moving and grooving to the beat of “I Like To Move It” together with Annie and Daddy Warbucks.

A whopping $317,665.79 was raised, all the proceeds from the sale of tickets go towards sustaining AWWA programmes. We would like to say a very big thank you to all who have supported AWWA and we hope for your continuous support in our journey towards empowering our clients to live dignified and independent lives.
