Mr Mohammed Nazir Bujang, a single father of six children, including a special needs boy named Mohammed Haziq who has global developmental delay (GDD), used to commute two hours from Toa Payoh to Napier Road to take Haziq to AWWA school.
He temporarily stopped working and relied on financial assistance to look after his four children from his first marriage, who are now between the ages of 13 and 19. He is now married to a single mother who has an autistic daughter and they have another child.
Mr Nazir is currently working on various work arrangements to have flexible time to look after his children. He prioritises education and values for his children and is debt-free and no longer wants to rely on financial assistance.
