This episode of CNA Insider highlighted some of the struggles that people with disabilities face when they go out to run errands such as grocery shopping. Having that said, AWWA Day Activity Centre started a weekly grocery run to GIANT supermarket at Loyang Point in Pasir Ris in late 2022. With the help of coaches, these special needs folks learn practical skills like following a shopping list and counting money – which will help them become more independent. They also get to practise their communication skills and integrate into the community.
