Volunteers are the lifeblood of AWWA. Our amazing volunteers contribute time, energy and expertise that help fulfil our mission and make it possible for us to provide quality service and reach out effectively to our communities.


12,000 volunteers who gave over 66,000 hours of their time through events and activities. Throughout the past four decades, AWWA has been fortunate to receive from caring people in our communities – generous offers to volunteer their time and services.

Volunteer Opportunities

Criteria for Volunteers


  • All volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
  • Persons whose skills and interests are successfully matched with our needs will be invited for an initial interview and an orientation session.
  • The Orientation provides volunteers with the basic skills and information for volunteering at AWWA.
