James Woo is an IT veteran with 30 years of experience in Healthcare, Hospitality, Telco/Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Digital TV, Manufacturing and Distribution. He spent the last 10 years as Chief Information Officer of the green field set-up Farrer Park Hospital where he strategised, designed and implemented and operationalised the entire secure IT ecosystem from ground up.
James was a member of SGTech’s TeSA sector committee for healthcare from 2016 to 2019 that looked into developing the supply of specialised skills needed to support the healthcare sector. He was also a member of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore/Singapore Workforce Development Agency Skills Advisory Panel for Skills Framework which reviews the framework resources, ensuring that it’s relevant to the demands of the ICT sector.
He was also a member of Singapore Computer Society Executive Committee, Symantec Executive Customer Advisory Committee (USA) and ITE’s Electronic Technical Advisory Committee.
In 2006, he was awarded Symantec’s Visionary of the Year for his vision, long term strategy, implementation and work in securing Starhub digital assets and customer data.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics) from Concordia College (NY).
