AWWA was appointed to operate the Adult Disability Home and Day Activity Centre (ADH and DAC), which is targeted to be operational in end 2020. ADH and DAC will serve adults aged 18 to 55 years old, with mild to severe physical and multiple disabilities, who have no caregivers or next of kin or whose caregivers are unable to care for them.
In line with AWWA’s mission of ensuring that the disadvantaged are empowered to lead dignified lives, throughout life stages, AWWA chose to embark on this new project.
ADH and DAC will provide holistic care through therapy, physical rehabilitation, training in activities of daily living and community integration activities to this group who are unable to remain in school, be gainfully employed or be enrolled in a day activity centre.
It will also provide recreational activities, games and outings for our clients to promote and encourage social participation.
Caregiver training will be offered to caregivers of clients in hope to eventually have them live comfortably in their homes, with their families.
Through this, we aim to provide good quality living, promote emotional and general well-being and prolong the lifespan of our clients through the various activities.
Our ADH and DAC are currently under construction and will be located at 5 Pasir Ris Street 22. You may find out more here.
