AWWA School
AWWA’s special education schools provide students with autism, aged 7 to 18, with nurturing and holistic educational experiences that build their independence and maximise their potential in tandem with their capabilities and aspirations. Both AWWA School @ Napiri and AWWA School @ Bedok provide specialised support for students with autism.
Aims to give students greater support and early training to increase the chance of positive post school outcome for them and their families
Art
The Art Department empowers learners to learn through the various artistic processes of exploration, engagement, execution, and expansion.
ICT
The ICT department strive to empower students with diverse abilities by providing tailored technology solutions.
Language
To enable our students to learn language in meaningful and engaging ways, towards achieving functional communication and literacy.
Numeracy
To enable our students to acquire the foundational mathematics skills to effectively apply them in their daily experiences.
Life Skills
The Life Skills Department offers an instructional program to empower our students to acquire various functional living skills required across daily settings.
PE & CCA
To develop every student for life, work and play through our Physical Education and Co-Curricular Programme.
Transition Planning
The senior students are exposed to the various Vocational Education modules on rotational basis per semester till they reach 15 years old.
We offer services psychology, social work and therapy
Psychology
The Psychology department works collaboratively with the IEP team (comprising of teaching staff and allied professionals), caregivers and other stakeholders.
Social Work
Through family-centred and strengths-based practices, the Social Work Department aims to enhance the quality of life for our students and their families.
Therapy
Our Allied Health Professionals from various disciplines adopt a holistic and strengths-based approach to support students with additional needs.
The school nurse provides basic health services to our students in case of injuries or illnesses. Apart from this, she also plays an advisory role to teachers, parents or caregivers on our students’ health issues and to promote healthy habits (e.g. proper hand-washing, proper oral care and good dietary habits).
The annual school health checks conducted by Health Promotion Board (HPB) and the operation of our dental clinic supported by volunteer dentists and clinic assistants to provide basic oral health care and treatments for our students is also managed by the school nurse.
