Singapore boosts its social service workforce of over 20,000 with expanded study awards, fully funded training from April 2026, and 2025 as the Year of Celebrating Professionals, to tackle complex needs in an ageing society. The sector is adopting AI for better efficiency. Mr Ashokkumar Ramachandran, therapy head at AWWA, was mentioned in Minister Masagos’s speech about how the social service sector is using artificial intelligence, citing how AWWA uses an AI-driven platform called Efficiency AI to conduct behavioural assessment of children with conditions such as autism and cerebral palsy at its Early Intervention Centre.
