AWWA Inclusion Experts Series: Supporting Learning through the Ages
Calling all early childhood practitioners, mainstream primary school educators, SPED teachers, allied health professionals, allied educators and early intervention professionals for the second session on inclusion and inclusive practices!
The AWWA Inclusion Experts Series brings together professionals of diverse backgrounds, allowing them to gain insights, acquire new inclusion- related information and enhance their skill sets so that they can mindfully work towards practising better inclusion across various settings.
Topics of Discussion:
- Understand how Universal Design affects children and how this supports the concept of high quality teaching
- Recognise the common challenges that some children face, what these challenges might indicate and how educators and practitioners can gain greater understanding of a child’s needs
- Introduction to tools and resources to measure individual children’s progress in emotional development and social skills
- Ways in which educators and practitioners can remove barriers to learning

Dr Roberts is a Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL Institute of Education and Deputy Director of UCL Centre for Inclusive Education and is the Research Engagement and Impact Lead for the Psychology and Human Development Department. Dr Roberts has a passion for research, curriculum design and capability development of educational practitioners.
