Professor Choo is a Geriatrician with over 30 years of experience and has been a key driving force in advancing geriatric care capabilities within Singapore’s public healthcare system.

He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the National Healthcare Group Board of Advisors and is Emeritus Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Prof Choo is also the architect of NHG’s River of Life (ROL) framework of care, which focuses on preventive care by addressing physical, psychosocial, and socio-economic determinants of health.

Professor Choo has served as a board member at Ren Ci Community Hospital, Assisi Hospice, and Ang Mo Kio–Thye Hua Kwan Hospital.

He also chairs the Medical Advisory Panel of the Singapore Prison Service, appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Medical Advisory Board to MINDEF and SAF.
