AWWA is a registered Charity with a membership body, its own constitution and by-laws. It is a full member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC) and authorised to receive tax-deductible donations.
The responsibility of ensuring that AWWA carries out its mission through its services rests with its Board of Management, led by the President. The Board is made up entirely of volunteers who receive no remuneration and are elected or appointed to serve a minimum term of two years. The Board is in charge of policy making as well as identifying strategic directions for the organisation.
The Board is supported by committees tasked to oversee governance within AWWA. Each governance committee is headed by a Board member and further comprises other Board members along with experts from the public and private sectors, and industry-related fields.
More than 450 professional staff and team members carry out the day-to-day operations headed by AWWA’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Oei.
