Family Service Centre
Founded in 1970, AWWA Family Service Centre (FSC) is a community-based agency dedicated to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges.
We meet people where they are – whether they are facing financial hardship, instability, or other difficulties – and work alongside them to build on their strengths. Our approach combines practical assistance with personalised support, helping people develop skills, access resources, and create pathways to stability.
At FSC, we believe everyone has the capacity to grow and contribute. By fostering resilience and connection, we empower individuals and families to move forward with confidence and participate fully in their communities.

Key activities include:
Information and Referral Service
- We help individuals and families connect with the right community resources and services. When appropriate, we provide follow-up support through our casework and counselling services.
Casework and Counselling
- Our team of social workers practitioners offer personalised guidance to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges – from practical daily needs to emotional and relationship matters. Together, we develop strategies tailored to each unique situation.
Group work
- We facilitate supportive groups where individuals facing similar life circumstances can share experiences, learn new coping skills, and build meaningful connections with others on similar journeys.
Community Work
- We connect with our community through talks, workshops, and outreach initiatives that foster resilience, mutual aid, and access to resources. By training and empower community volunteers, we build support network that helps addresses needs in the community. Nurturing a culture of collective care and shared responsibility.
